Paul Pesek represents clients in a broad range of business matters and transactions.  He assists clients in the planning and formation of business entities, including corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies, and in business transactions involving acquisitions and dispositions of businesses, assets and properties, including real property and oil, gas and mineral properties and interests.  His practice concentrates in the areas of corporate, real estate, and oil & gas law. Paul also assists clients along with outside estate planning and tax counsel in business and estate planning and handles the administration of estates.
  
Prior to forming Pesek & Helms, LLP in 2007, Paul was for many years a partner in Vial, Hamilton, Koch & Knox, LLP, a Texas law firm, where he served as a chair of the firm's Business Section and was a Real Estate Group Leader.


Paul has been admitted to practice law in the States of Texas and Louisiana and to practice in the United States Tax Court.  He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and a member of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law and the Oil, Gas and Energy Resources Law sections of the State Bar. Paul is a memberĀ and active in the Dallas Bar Association where he currently is a member of the Energy Law and the Probate and Trust Law sections.

He received his law degree from the Tulane University School of Law in 1982.  He earned a BBA from the University of Texas in 1979 where he majored in Accounting.

 

Paul has played an active leadership role in a number of community organizations.  He is a current Director and former President of the Pines Camp.  Paul served as Chairman of the Community Involvement Committee of the Dallas Bar Association and on numerous committees of the Dallas Bar. Paul has served as a Director of the American Trauma Society of North Texas and of the North Texas Trauma Regional Advisory Council.  He is a former Director and a former President of the Serra Club of Dallas. Paul is a fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and of the Dallas Bar Foundation.
