Peter H. Wickersham practices health, corporate and business transactions law.  He specializes in the representation of physicians and other health care providers in connection with business transactions, entity formations, federal and state regulatory matters, and practice operations.  He represents a wide range of health care providers across Texas, including individual physicians, physician group practices, independent diagnostic testing facilities, wholesale pharmacies, urgent care centers, medical research and development companies, and limited license practitioners.

Peter represents medical professionals in the chartering of professional associations (PAs) and professional limited liability companies (PLLCs); operating and buy-sell agreements for physician practice groups; physician employment agreements and covenants not to compete; medical regulatory matters (Stark Act, Federal Anti-Kickback Statute and Fraud & Abuse); medical practice group purchases and sales; medical practice group agreements with management service organizations (MSOs) and hospitals; medical employee hiring and termination; leases of medical facilities and offices; medical equipment leases and license agreements; operational work matters and settlement agreements.

He is the principal of Peter H. Wickersham, P.C., a San Antonio, Texas specialty firm founded in 2003 that became Of Counsel to Pesek & Helms, LLP in 2007.  Prior to founding his own firm, Peter was Senior Healthcare Attorney at the Kreager Law Firm, a San Antonio corporate, tax, and health-law boutique, and an Associate Attorney in the Health Law Section at Cox Smith Matthews, Incorporated, also in San Antonio.  Prior to relocating to San Antonio in 1997, Peter practiced health law and litigation in New Orleans, Louisiana.

In 1992 Peter received his law degree (Cum Laude) from Tulane University School of Law, where he was a member of the Moot Court Board and a Legal Writing and Research Senior Fellow.  In addition, Peter holds a B.A. from the University of Virginia (1984).

In 2002 Peter became Certified in Health Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, one of only three attorneys in San Antonio presently holding this distinction.  He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Louisiana State Bar, the San Antonio Bar Association, and the American Health Lawyers Association.  Peter is licensed to practice law in both Texas and Louisiana.

Peter is the current President of the School Council of St. Pius X Catholic School in San Antonio and a Member of the Board of Directors of Allied Women's Center, a Catholic crisis pregnancy center.
